The plow is angled so far downhill,the headgear will fall back.NOT pushing the lift ram down all the way will prevent the headgear from falling back towards the truck,but makes it difficult to get on and off. You could use a ratchet strap,or tie down,to hold the headgear forward. WebFeb 24, 2005 · Sounds to me that there is air in the system. Check the fluid. If it's full run the plow back an forth, up and down. Then put the plow all the way down, make sure you push the lift ram all the way down. Check the fluid again. If there is air in the system the fluid will have air bubbles in it, and the level will be low.

Personally I would not use it but if you must, position lift ram all the way down and then tighten cable so there is just a tiny bit of spring stretch. The purpose of it it to easy the mounting and unmounting of plow but I always manually collapse the lift when I dismount unit.
