Then placing very small pieces of solder on the paste. When heated, the liquid paste melts and covers the surfaces being joined with a thin layer of molten solder. The heating and cooling rise rates must be compatible with the solder paste and components. A typical profile consists of a preheat, dryout and reflow sections.
